A Polesworth climber is on top of the
world after achieving his goal of reaching the highest point
in Africa.
John Price finally reached the summit of
Mount Kilimanjaro and didn't forget to tuck a copy of the
Herald in his rucksack.
Standing at 19,340 feet, John,
42 took the six day ascent in his stride, arriving at the
summit of the dormant volcano at 8.45am on February 24. All
the hard training paid off and he succeeded in raising
substantial funds for the Leukaemia Research Fund, including
£500 from main sponsors Polesworth Garage Ltd.
